All about Barbados
There is a pleasant climate in Barbados with average temperatures of about 27°C.The sun shines more than 3.000 hours a year. The tropical heat can be handled well because of the continuous fresh breeze from the sea. During "rainy and hurricane season" (beginning of june to middle of december) the sun shines but gets interrupted by short refreshing showers from time to time. Really bad storms usually move along northwards across the caribbean.
Even if you don’t notice first of all the sun on Barbados is very intensive. Even if it is clouded you should watch that you have used a suncreme with high sunfactor. Don’t forget sunglasses and suncap.
Always remember: If you don’t see the sun, the sun always sees you!
The last hurricane hitting the island was "Janet" on 22nd of september in 1955. It was one of the strongest hurricanes of the category 5 with up to 280 km/h winds, but hit Barbados being a category 3 with an eye-width of 37 km! 38 people lost their lifes.
