All about Barbados

Restaurants and Bars add 10% Tips automatically (Service Charge) to your bill.
It is common though to give further 5% tips for luggage carrying or roommaids which get about 1,- US $ per luggage or per room and night if you are satisfied.
Boys and girls of the supermarket enjoy helping with packing your shopping and taking it to the car, they are happy about a little tip (usually 1,- BDS$, if you have a bigger shopping you can give them 2,00 BDS$).

If you were happy with your taxi driver round the amount. Young unemployed men try to earn some money by working as selfemployed island tour operators or guards watching your car. Donít accept their offers or donít reject them after having allowed their work for you otherwise you might annoy them.

They will try to convince you to buy a coconut on the beach. Work out a price BEFORE for the coconut, climbing onto the palm, typical photo and opening of the nut. It should cost no more than 5,- BDS $. A coconut costs 2,00 - 3,00 BDS$ on the market.
Good suggestion: Rum mixed with coconutmilk tastes great and is very refreshing.
